Abstract
In contrast to the great successes in the production of very high order odd harmonics in rare gases, the theoretical and experimental acitivity relating to the harmonic light generation on metal surfaces[1] was limited only to the second order until recently. Two theoretical works[2,3] have been published only in recent days dealing with the problem in question for rectangular potential well, i. e., in principle for metal surfaces.
