Abstract
A passive terahertz (THz) emitter based on the lateral photo-Dember effect enables the efficient generation of THz radiation by an Er:fiber laser at 1.55 µm. The substrate material is provided by a thin layer of conventional In0.53Ga0.47As grown on InP in which unidirectional lateral photo-Dember currents are excited [1].
