Abstract
Biophoton is spontaneous ultra-weak photon emission generally observed in living organism, reflecting oxidative stress of living body. Typically, it is known to originate in the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in living body. On the other hand, living body shows ultra-weak delayed luminescence after visible light exposure, which is also associated with the ROS generation through photosensitization process. To explore the application of these phenomena for diagnostics, we have developed highly sensitive imaging and spectroscopic system for biophoton and delayed luminescence analysis. We have characterized these properties through identification of the difference of their spectral patterns.
