Abstract
Grating-surface-emitting (GSE) laser technology is very promising for fabricating monolithic frequency stabilized semiconductor diode laser sources that can produce the high power narrow divergence output beams necessary for many optical system applications. Continuous wave-single-mode operation of ridge-guided GSE lasers with a single gain section at powers up to 15 mW with spectral linewidths of typically 10 MHz is reported.
