Abstract

Continuously pumped acoustooptically Q-switched lasers are efficient generators of high repetition rate laser pulses. The 1-μm neodymium laser transitions exhibit high gain and give shorter pulses, while the 1.3- μm laser transitions are of technological importance in fiber optic communications.
